About the role

We’re hiring a Director of Weatherization Programs to own Everblue’s entire WAP portfolio. You’ll report to the Senior Director of Workforce Development and lead the managers responsible for delivering our state WAP contracts. The job is to deliver excellent training to our state agency customers while protecting and growing the contracts that fund the work.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the WAP team. Coach and hold accountable a team of managers covering contracts in multiple states. Build the operating rhythm that keeps the work moving.
  • Owning customer relationships. Get on a text-message basis with our state agency contacts. Know every contract inside and out, from both our side and theirs.
  • Delivering the work. Make sure every WAP contract delivers what was promised, on time, with happy customers at the end.
  • Driving profitability. Manage contract deliverables so customers are delighted and the economics work. Spot risks early. Find the clever path.
  • Growing the footprint. Try new approaches. Help us land new state contracts and grow where the work is good.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years leading teams that deliver complex programs, contracts, or training. WAP, energy efficiency, or government-funded workforce experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and (when needed) parting ways with team members.
  • Customer instinct. You build trust with senior client stakeholders quickly and keep it.
  • Adaptability. You embrace experiments and you’re comfortable when the business changes.
  • Commercial cleverness. You know how to delight customers and protect the P&L at the same time.
  • A bias to deliver on the intent behind every task, not just the letter of it. When you’re handed a problem, you go figure it out. No excuses, no reminders needed. (If A Message to Garcia doesn’t already mean something to you, give it a read.)
  • Someone who stays curious and keeps ego low. You’d rather get the right answer than be the smartest person in the room.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing and delivering training programs, particularly in the area of weatherization assistance.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage and mentor a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and ensure profitability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
  • Knowledge of government contracting processes and regulations.

Skills

  • Strategic planning and execution.
  • Customer relationship management.
  • Financial management and budgeting.
  • Team leadership and development.
  • Problem-solving and risk management.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with bonus eligibility.
  • SIMPLE IRA with company match.
  • Health reimbursement program.
