POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Director at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the growth of LJA’s Bridge Inspection Program. You will collaborate with a team of professionals to support business development, marketing, and the strategic management of projects and teams to deliver best-in-class services to public agencies. In this role, you will set the tone for a strong culture of safety, ensure technical excellence, optimize resources, and mentor staff to reach their full potential. You will serve as a key driver in expanding LJA’s bridge inspection program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serving as technical resource for bridge inspections
  • Establishing, documenting, and implementing bridge inspection procedures and quality control practices for bridge inspections
  • Developing, training, and leading inspection staff
  • Serving as Project Manager for identified contracts and pursuits
  • Managing, scheduling, and performing bridge inspections
  • Preparing and reviewing bridge inspection reports
  • Performing or checking load ratings
  • Serving as a key driver in expanding LJA’s bridge inspection program

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas
  • Qualified Bridge Inspection Team Lead in the State of Texas

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience
  • 7+ years of NBIS bridge inspection experience. Recent experience with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and Specifications for National Bridge Inspection (SNBI)
  • Current on NBIS Requirements to Serve as a Qualified Team Lead
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities, with strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Proficiency with load ratings and load rating software
