About the role

We're looking for a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) to join our Finance Technology team as an individual contributor. You will lead complex, multi-year integration initiatives, define large-scale integration strategies, and drive application convergence and data migration efforts that align with Capital One’s long-term technology vision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-year integration initiatives
  • Define large-scale integration strategies
  • Drive application convergence and data migration efforts
  • Own the business or technical vision for large and complex programs
  • Collaborate with large cross-functional teams to secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams
  • Build the foundations for the TPM practice by growing and developing a team of TPMs
  • Simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
  • Execute and ensure accountability for results
  • Work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done
  • Show high emotional intelligence, be a good listener, and demonstrate deep empathy for teams and partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs

Qualifications

  • Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
  • A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker
  • Experience as a TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practice
  • Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
  • Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results
  • Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done
  • Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
