Director, Technical Program Management
Position Summary
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) works with a team of program managers in conjunction with the account manager and customer service team in all technical aspects of the customer engagement. The TPM is responsible for first-level technical support of the customer, aids in the development of account strategy, and provides critical feedback on Amkor's ability to align to customer packaging needs. These activities can include technical Q&A, design generation, implementation of change notices, audit preparation and participation, resolution of technical issues, technical presentations and factory visits with the customer. Amkor is seeking a qualified individual to join the team in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the technical point of contact for the assigned customer accounts
- Guide customer packaging strategies to align with lowest cost; and best performance products to ensure customer product success in their market
- Guide Amkor materials and package development roadmaps of generation products based on customer needs and requirements
- Create and deliver assembly technology presentations
- Cookordinate customer visits for periodic Technical Review Meetings
- Manage new product introductions (NPI) with Amkor factory teams
- Initiate customer designs and follow-up (does not include design development)
- Drive orders for tooling and substrates, etc. to ensure timely execution of NPIs of new designs
- Resolve technical issues in the areas of packaging, processing, materials and enable faster and more responsive communication between customer and Amkor factory teams
- Create and analyze DOEs to support customer data gathering needs on new products and simultaneously balancing Amkor resources
- Customer Quality Support (drive & manage preparation and execution of audits, PCN, 8D follow-up)
- Contribute to strategic customer positioning and technical alignment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related technical field such as Materials Science
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledgeable in the processes, materials, and applications for semiconductor packaging
- Excellent program management skills, self-driven, proactive, works with the customer on a daily basis, possesses excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both large and small groups, excellent presentation skills
- Flexible to work within both US and Asian business hours
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with SPC, DOE, FMEA
- Communicates in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in the Korean or Vietnamese language
Type and Amount of Travel
Both domestic and international / 10% to 25% travel
Salary Range
$175,000 - 230,000 plus bonus potential
Location
San Jose, CA. This position has a hybrid schedule. Candidates must reside near the local Amkor office.
