We’re looking for a Director, Tech Leads to be part of making that happen.

As a Director, you will own the technical strategy, operating model, and performance of the S2 Technical Lead organization. This role is accountable for evolving the Technical Lead function into a more strategic, outcome-driven capability that delivers measurable customer impact and operational leverage. Act as the primary strategic liaison between Security Services (S2) and Product/R&D, ensuring field insights directly influence platform direction, prioritization, and execution. You will work closely with Executives, Product, Engineering, and Security Leaders to drive and mature strategy, organizational structure, and operational excellence for the Technical Lead function, ensuring you deliver measurable customer outcomes and operational leverage.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Technical Leads supporting each of the Security Services functions and our customers.
  • Evolve the Technical Lead function toward a more strategic, outcome-oriented operating model
  • Define and track KPIs tied to customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and platform impact
  • Identify and resolve cross-team and cross-functional dependencies impacting execution
  • Own the professional development strategy and career progression for the Technical Lead population
  • Ensure strong alignment between Technical Leads and broader S2 priorities (IR, cSOC, Concierge, Tech Support)
  • Serve as S2’s primary strategic interface to Product and R&D
  • Own intake, prioritization, and governance of S2-originated requests
  • Set and assist with communicating S2 priorities to Product and Engineering leadership
  • Represent S2’s technical perspective in PDLC discussions and roadmap planning
  • Ensure Technical Leads are effectively supporting UAT, feedback loops, and platform improvements
  • Translate field signal into actionable input that drives roadmap and platform enhancements
  • Establish standards for how Technical Leads assess, mentor, and develop Security Engineers within their assigned Sections.
  • Develop and report performance metrics that demonstrate business impact, operational efficiency, and service quality from the Tech Lead function.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and quality assurance across Security Services.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security threats, industry trends, and technology advances to keep the Tech Lead organization current and effective.
  • Set the tone for ongoing enablement requirements to ensure the team takes full advantage of advances in Arctic Wolf's technology and service delivery capabilities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling a technical individual contributor (IC) organization within a global security services or managed detection and response environment.
  • Strong understanding of security operations disciplines, including Concierge Security, cSOC, Incident Response, and Technical Support.
  • Ability to design and evolve organizational models that balance project-based work, operational maintenance, and career development for senior ICs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to articulate complex technical and organizational concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through managers and peers, influencing without direct authority across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building performance frameworks and leveling structures for technically diverse IC teams.

Qualifications

At least five years of security consulting or security operations experience.

Five or more years of experience leading Security Operations or a technical IC function within a global organization with Cloud and SaaS products.

Proven track record of managing Detection and Response (D&R), CSIRT, Vulnerability Management, Security Engineering, Cloud Security, or Red Teaming teams.

Prior experience managing other managers or senior ICs in a matrixed or project-based organizational model.

Skills

Pay

The base salary range for this job family is 160,000 to 280,000 USD annually. This range reflects the base pay the company reasonably expects to offer for this position, aligned to the broader job family base pay structure. Actual base pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location, including job family level. In addition to base pay, Arctic Wolf offers variable incentive compensation, new hire equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
