Director, Tax & Statutory Reporting
Job Summary
Consumer Cellular is seeking a Director of Tax and Statutory Reporting to lead all aspects of tax and business license compliance, statutory reporting, and compliance strategy for a large telecommunications company. The Director of Tax and Statutory Reporting will manage a tax team to ensure that all tax and regulatory requirements are met, and will proactively work to mitigate potential compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end indirect tax compliance and tax strategy for equipment and service sales across all sales channels.
- Develop and implement indirect tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance across all applicable state, local, and federal jurisdictions, while proactively identifying and mitigating exposure and risk in indirect tax.
- Prepare, and/or review and submit, regulatory filings to the FCC and other regulatory bodies in order to maintain compliance with telecommunications-specific requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with taxing authorities and regulators, managing audits, inquiries, and dispute resolution.
- Partner with external tax consultants to address federal and state income tax matters, ensuring alignment with overall corporate tax strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to support business initiatives with sound tax guidance across all sales channels and sales programs.
- Monitor evolving indirect tax legislation, rulings, and regulatory changes impacting the telecommunications industry and assess their effect on company operations.
- Ensure use tax compliance in all jurisdictions, as applicable.
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 8-10 years of multistate indirect tax compliance experience.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
- Big 4 tax experience, or direct experience working within a tax or regulatory authority preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
- Self-motivated, both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work from the office 3 to 5 days per week.

Pay & Benefits
Data (in accordance with the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act) Minimum Salary: $165,900 Maximum Salary: $248,850 This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
