Director Talent Development
About the role
The position is at a healthcare company. As the Director of Talent Development, you will lead strategic talent development initiatives while serving as a trusted partner to our Professional Services Team (PST). Reporting to the AVP of Talent Development, you will play a critical role in developing and executing talent programs that support career advancement, organizational effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure talent development data is accurate, actionable, and aligned with organizational priorities. This role is well suited for a strategic leader who is passionate about developing people and has strong expertise in people analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of impactful talent development initiatives, including onboarding, employee engagement, leadership development, coaching, and mentoring programs that promote career growth and long-term employee engagement.
- Build strong partnerships with Professional Services Team (PST) leaders and employees to understand development needs, career goals, and emerging talent challenges while coaching managers on performance management and team effectiveness to strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization.
- Oversee the firm's performance management processes for PST, including 90-day feedback, annual performance reviews, and upward feedback, while partnering with calibration committees to ensure alignment with the overall talent development strategy.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to design, implement, and continuously enhance integrated systems and tools that support talent management processes, improve data quality, and enable informed, data-driven decisions.
- Analyze talent development trends, workforce forecasts, and capability gaps to provide leadership with strategic recommendations on program investments, organizational development priorities, and talent strategies.
- Partner with Recruiting, Learning, Finance, and Talent Operations teams to ensure talent development initiatives align with the organization's broader people strategy.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Talent Development team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, analytical thinking, and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the firm's DEIB principles and core values through daily leadership, collaboration, and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Talent Development, People Operations, or Human Resources.
- Proven experience leveraging people analytics and workforce data to support strategic decision-making and generate actionable business insights.
- Experience working within professional services, management consulting, or other knowledge-driven organizations.
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing talent development programs, including leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management initiatives.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to connect talent development strategies to business objectives and organizational performance.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments while establishing structure, improving processes, and driving operational excellence.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and systems thinking skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives while maintaining clarity and focus.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead teams, drive organizational change, and build organizational alignment.
- Technically proficient with experience implementing and optimizing HR systems, talent technologies, and data analytics platforms.
- High emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build trust, coach leaders, develop employees, and foster strong working relationships.
- Exceptional judgment, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information.

Pay
$147k to $205k annually
