Director, Supply Chain

About the role

The Director, Supply Chain directs overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods.

Develops and implements supply chain strategies and process improvements to support operational efficiency and business objectives. Negotiates vendor contracts and pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing and reliable supplier performance. Utilizes data monitoring and analytics to evaluate performance and trends to forecast inventory and distribution requirements. Partners with Project Managers, Division Managers, Foremen, and Superintendents to ensure material availability and alignment with project requirements. Serves as mentor and provides training and coaching to team members.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, train, and coach team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of purchasing experience required, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a purchasing team in the construction or manufacturing industry.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to align and achieve company, division, and project goals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to control and reduce external spend while developing a strong supplier base.
• Excellent team-building and customer service skills.

• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
