Responsibilities
- Facility management
- Supply requisition
- Employee hiring, firing, training, and record-keeping
- Preparing, writing, and conducting employee performance reviews; recommending merit increases
- Participating in developing, modifying, and executing company policies and procedures
- Shipping, receiving, and inventory control
- Managing business goals including:
- Labor Rate Goal as a percentage of sales
- Productivity Goals
- Receiving and Put-away Specification Goals
- High Velocity Bins Replenishment
- Shipping Specification Goals
- Shipping Accuracy (Shipping errors)
- Inventory Accuracy (Ghost Inventory, Cycle adjustments, etc.)
- Safety and department security
- Resource and budget planning
- Labor, materials, and overhead cost control (e.g., tracing losses, solving discrepancy problems, meeting daily shipping schedules, assuring inventory control)
- Scheduling and on-time performance (e.g., meeting daily shipping schedules, maintaining high levels of “on-time delivery” performance)
- Preparing management reports
- Guiding and advising the senior leadership team
- Actively participating in industry organizations and representing the company in meetings
- Liaising with attorneys, governmental regulatory agencies, insurance companies, and individuals regarding incidents resulting in asset, property, or human loss
- Meeting and working with the company’s executive management team; making presentations
- Serving as the point of contact for emergency personnel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline with a minimum of 8–10 years of related warehouse management expertise, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with warehouse procedures, forklift training, licensing, hazardous materials, worker’s compensation, disaster recovery, evacuation, and materials handling
- Minimum of 5–7 years of related operations/warehouse experience
- Minimum of 7–10 years of people management experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes and procedures
- Demonstrated business communications skills, including negotiations and presentations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel throughout the US (25%)
- Current driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
