Director, Strategy Engagement Lead
This position is based in East Hanover, NJ and is not remote. Only local candidates will be considered; relocation assistance is not provided. Travel up to 20% (domestic and/or international) may be required, with specific expectations defined by the hiring manager.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, US Business Strategy Lead, this role drives day-to-day strategy engagements within US Business Strategy. The Director, US Strategy Engagement Lead translates the pillar lead’s agenda into structured projects, aligns stakeholders, delivers decision-ready recommendations, and ensures smooth execution handoffs.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of strategic framing, issue trees, hypotheses, opportunity sizing, and US commercial enterprise strategy narratives.
- Coordinate functional strategy inputs and pressure-test alignment with US commercial enterprise priorities.
- Synthesize market, customer, competitor, policy, portfolio, financial, and operating model inputs into clear strategic choices.
- Prepare US long-term-ready recommendations, strategic options, and trade-off narratives.
- Coach Associate Directors and Managers to ensure analyses, narratives, and stakeholder processes meet executive quality standards.
- Own assigned engagements within US commercial enterprise strategy development, functional strategy alignment, annual/quarterly strategic planning, market/competitive synthesis, and US long-term decision options.
- Manage workplans, stakeholder alignment, synthesis, recommendations, and handoff quality.
Requirements
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Preferred: Advanced degree (Master of Science and/or MBA).
Experience:
- 8+ years of consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, strategic operations, transformation, or relevant pharma/healthcare experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead 1-2 complex strategy engagements concurrently with senior stakeholders and ambiguous scope.
- Strong hypothesis-driven problem solving, facilitation, storylining, analytical synthesis, and influence without authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, project leadership, or transformation experience.
- Experience converting recommendations into roadmaps, owners, KPIs, and governance handoffs.
Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $185,500 to $344,500 per year, determined by relevant skills and experience. Upon joining, salary will be reviewed periodically. The published range may change based on company and market factors.
Compensation includes a performance-based cash incentive and eligibility for annual equity awards.
