About the role
The Director, Strategy & Commercial Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving strategic initiatives, enhancing commercial effectiveness, and supporting business growth through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration.Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives aligned with organizational objectives
- Drive and manage large, cross-functional projects that enhance commercial performance and operational efficiency
- Partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into actionable plans
- Elevate commercial excellence through process optimization, best practices, and performance frameworks
- Provide actionable market intelligence, including competitive analysis, industry trends, and customer insights
- Support sales and commercial teams with data-driven recommendations to improve outcomes
- Develop and manage internal and external commercial communications to ensure alignment and clarity
- Create executive-level presentations, reports, and messaging for key stakeholders
- Lead communication strategies for major initiatives, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging
- Oversee end-to-end program management for high-priority initiatives
- Establish timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring successful execution
- Drive accountability across teams and proactively manage risks and dependencies
- Lead and implement culture initiatives that reinforce organizational values and employee engagement
- Plan and execute offsite meetings, leadership forums, and company town halls
- Partner with HR and leadership to promote a high-performance, collaborative culture

Skills/Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 15+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, education can be used as an equivalent
- Prior experience in sales or commercial roles strongly preferred
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
- Deep understanding of commercial operations and market dynamics
- Strong project management skills required; Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred
