Director, Specialty Care Services
About the role
The Director of Specialty Care Clinics is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership for multiple specialty care clinics within the ambulatory division. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care is delivered consistently while achieving operational goals related to access, growth efficiency, provider productivity, and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a dyad partnership with the Chief Physician, Specialty Clinics, other clinic Medical Directors to ensure a collaborative approach to clinical and operational excellence.
- Optimize service delivery while aligning with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
- Foster positive, collaborative relationships throughout the organization for the enhancement of specialty clinics' delivery and growth.
- Facilitate a positive work environment for physicians, providers, leaders, and staff.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for emerging leaders, fostering leadership development and strengthening management capabilities across ambulatory services.
- Collaborate closely with other ambulatory and hospital leaders, as well as other senior executives, to align clinic services with broader organizational priorities and system-wide strategic initiatives to support integrated, team-based care delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s highly preferred. Bachelors required or 20 years of experience in Ambulatory with at least 8 years of management experience.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible management ambulatory leadership experience required with at least 4 years in the discipline. Administrative leadership experience within specialty services and/or surgical services preferred.
- Skills: Demonstrated experience in building collaborative working relationships with providers, colleagues, staff, and senior executives. Demonstrated initiative, follow through, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated leadership skills and high professional standards with results-oriented management style. Demonstrated effective project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to deal with job-related stress, set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Willingness to provide on-site practice oversight, as needed. Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills required. Excellent interpersonal, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Benefits
Compensation: $195K to $205K based on years of experience doing the duties of the role. Eligible for annual VCP Incentive.
