About the role

The Director of Social Services plays a crucial role in implementing a comprehensive social services program at NHC HealthCare West Plains. This position focuses on providing support services for patients and families within the center, while fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Implementing a comprehensive social services program that supports patients and families
• Building a positive team approach through effective teamwork characteristics
• Ensuring the quality of social services rendered by the center
• Maintaining understanding and adherence to established policies of the health care center
• Providing direction to the department to meet the center's goals and objectives

Requirements

• A degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, preferably MSW
• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is encouraged to apply
• One year of long-term care experience is preferred

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the medical case management process
• Understanding of the needs of geriatric patients
• Working knowledge of funding resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care
• Imagination and creative ability
• Skilled in working cooperatively with other professionals
• Ability to organize and manage responsibilities efficiently
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
