About the role

The Director of Social Services plays a crucial role in implementing a comprehensive social services program at NHC HealthCare West Plains. This position is responsible for providing support services to patients and families within the center, fostering a positive team environment, ensuring the quality of services provided, and aligning with the center’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Implementing a comprehensive social services program that supports patients and families in the center.
• Building a positive team approach through effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Ensuring the quality of social services rendered by the center.
• Understanding and adhering to established policies of the health care center and communicating these policies to relevant parties.
• Providing guidance and direction to the department to help meet the center's goals and objectives.

Requirements

• A degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, preferably a Master of Social Work (MSW), with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) considered encouragingly.
• One year of long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should possess a strong understanding of the medical case management process, the needs of geriatric patients, health care settings, and working knowledge of various funding resources including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
