Job Summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks a Director of Simulation and Interprofessional Education Core. Located in Jackson, MS, UMMC is an academic health science center dedicated to improving health through education, research, and patient care. The position requires a terminal degree and four years of experience as a director of graduate-level health science education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative simulation and interprofessional education programs
• Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and other stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to support educational initiatives
• Evaluate and adapt new simulation technologies to improve training effectiveness
• Provide constructive feedback to trainees in high-intensity environments
• Lead and evaluate interprofessional healthcare delivery teams
• Adhere to health sciences accreditation processes

Requirements

• Terminal degree (MD, PhD in Health Sciences, Medicine, or BioMedical Education)
• Four years of experience as a director of graduate-level health science education
• Excellent leadership skills
• Budget management experience
• Maintain literacy and understanding of medical procedures
• Able to explore and adapt new simulation technologies
• Good writing skills
• Able to collaborate well with clinicians and basic scientists
• Experience in clinical education
• Experience working in, leading, and evaluating interprofessional healthcare delivery teams
