About the role
The Director of Sales Engineering leads the technical side of the sales force, providing pre-sales and post-sales activities for new and existing customers. This role involves working with a variety of customers, from large enterprises to smaller mid-sized clients, across the Cloud Datacenter and Enterprise Datacenter Solutions space.
Responsibilities
- Develop and present complex solutions to customers, collaborating with the sales and business teams to understand their needs.
- Lead and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
- Work closely with the execution teams to support the transition to implementation at the site upon award.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customer's technical and engineering teams throughout the sales cycle and post-sales support.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the sales team, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and product capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and technical marketing to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with AI/ML applications in both enterprise and edge deployments.
- Domain knowledge in networking for enterprise and AI deployments.
- Experience with standards, organizations, and consortia of relevant technologies.
- Understanding of complex test and development activities for electronics, including PCBA, node, and rack level integration.
- Knowledge of key stages in solution development for complex electronic manufacturing in Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including customers, team members, and other departments.
- Proficiency in communicating professionally and consultingly in written responses such as emails, presentations, proposals, and reports.
- Organized and analytical, with the ability to overcome sales challenges through creative and collaborative approaches.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Industry recognized certifications are a plus.
Skills
- Deep understanding of Cloud Datacenter and Enterprise Datacenter Solutions encompassing networking, server, storage, node, and rack level integration.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in managing complex projects and solutions.
