About the role

The Moog Power & Data Division is seeking a Director, Sales and Business Development to lead global sales, marketing, business development, and long-term growth initiatives across a diverse portfolio of highly engineered products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for global sales and marketing initiatives, shaping both near-term and long-term growth strategies that maximize revenue and profit.
  • Lead the development and execution of organic and acquisition-driven growth strategies for the Power & Data Division.
  • Create, maintain, and manage fiscal year budgets—balancing bookings forecasts, operating expenses, and channel-to-market cost optimization.
  • Serve as a key member of the Strategy, Innovation & Growth leadership team, influencing Division-wide initiatives.
  • Lead global sales efforts through direct regional sales teams and a worldwide field sales network, including manufacturer reps and distributors.
  • Provide strategic oversight for performance management, contract agreements, and optimization of long-term channel strategies.
  • Shape, develop, and transform the global sales and marketing organization to enhance capability, alignment, and execution.
  • Develop, attract, and retain a global staff of high-performing sales and business development professionals.
  • Drive business development efforts and go-to-market strategies across Power & Data Business Units, coordinating with Moog’s Space and Defense Divisions.
  • Promote customer intimacy by building and sustaining multi-tier, longstanding relationships across more than 250 customer accounts worldwide.
  • Identify new business pursuits—including opportunities outside Moog’s core—supported by market assessments, capture strategies, and ROI analysis.
  • Leverage trade shows, conferences, and industry events to expand networks, monitor trends, and surface strategic growth opportunities.
  • Support Power & Data Division engagements with Moog’s executive team and board of directors.
  • Work closely with Division Marketing to shape and prioritize budgets, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive business simplification efforts while improving overall customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development, sales, or related leadership experience within the defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries (e.g., government contracting, engineered solutions, or manufacturing).
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex component and system architectures and identify opportunities for Moog’s scope of work.
  • Proven capabilities in identifying and developing business opportunities, budget/forecast planning, and leading successful negotiations.
  • Progressive leadership experience overseeing multisite and multicultural teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Familiarity with global trade compliance, acquisition frameworks, and government funding environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within a defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign trade compliance, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS).
  • Understanding of Department of War (DoW) funding processes.
  • Geopolitical, social, and economic awareness to shape market strategy and develop new opportunities.

Pay

$190,000.00–$260,000.00 Annually
