About the Department
ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24/7/365. ED provides meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks. There are lots of learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment and plenty of excitement. Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful. One to two years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Michigan RN license.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school (master's preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
- Handle with Care - Advanced (within 90 days).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year).
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year).
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year).

Schedule
Full-Time | 1.0 FTE or 80 hours/pp | Salaried/Exempt | Monday - Friday Day Shifts. $15,000 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants.
