Director (RN) Emergency Department

Duties

• Coordinate and direct Nursing activities in accordance with current standards of practice and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop and revise policies related to the Emergency Department.
• Manage and develop personnel within the Emergency Department.
• Participate in hospital committees as needed.
• Act as a liaison between the Emergency Department, physicians, and other departments.
• Provide leadership and management to personnel during off-hours.
• Maintain daily core measures monitoring and ensure staff compliance with relevant standards and collaboratives such as stroke, sepsis, and chest pain.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of RN experience, including 2 years in critical care and 2 years in a leadership role.
• Able to follow directions and work according to department standards without explicit direction.
• Knowledge of principles of growth and development across the lifespan, and ability to assess and interpret patient data to meet individual needs.
• Ability to function effectively under stress.
