Director Quality

Quality isn't a department at GTC. It's a culture. As the Quality Director, you'll lead that culture across the entire organization, overseeing Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Non-Destructive Testing, serving as the Management Representative for AS9100 and ISO 9001, and ensuring our products meet the exacting standards of defense and aerospace customers. Through our Ownership For All program, you'll have a personal stake in the culture you build—every eligible full-time employee receives an ownership stake in GTC.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full Quality organization—QC, QA, and NDT—through subordinate supervisors and direct oversight, setting direction and deploying resources to meet aerospace and defense customer demands.
• Administer and continuously improve GTC's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.
• Lead and organize all AS9100 and ISO 9001 certification and surveillance audits, driving every finding to closure as GTC's Management Representative.
• Support AS13100 activities, including self-assessments and customer audits, and develop quality performance measurements and internal auditing programs.
• Communicate policy changes, program updates, and quality metrics clearly and consistently across the organization.
• Build and sustain a pervasive, visible culture of quality where every employee understands their responsibility for quality—not just the quality team.
• Develop departmental strategy and vision, drive data-grounded continuous improvement initiatives, and create quality education and awareness programs at all levels.
• Establish clear, measurable, and meaningful performance controls for direct reports.
• Represent GTC with professionalism and integrity in interactions with customers, suppliers, regulators, and independent auditors to uphold and enhance our reputation.

Requirements

• Ten or more years of experience in QA systems development, implementation, and management, with at least five years as a quality manager in a manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace, defense, or contract manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, business administration, or a related field.
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) certification; Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
• Proven ability to build and lead teams, facilitate cross-functional improvement initiatives, and navigate customer and regulatory audits with composure and professionalism.
• Strong business acumen alongside technical expertise, with a track record of building positive relationships across teams, leadership, customers, and auditors.
