About The Role
We are seeking a Director of Public Affairs with deep experience in the energy regulatory landscape to shape, influence, and navigate the evolving state and federal policies that impact our business.
- Develop and lead a proactive policy agenda that supports organizational goals in energy, water use, conservation, and economic development.
- Track, analyze, and communicate the impacts of federal and state legislation, regulations, and tax incentives on our operations.
- Advocate for regulatory outcomes that align with strategic objectives, including accelerated interconnection, data center incentives, and broader energy policy outcomes.
- Work closely with executive leadership—particularly with the Energy Origination, Tax, Finance, and Legal teams—to align policy priorities.
About You
- 10+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory strategy, or public policy leadership—preferably in energy, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success engaging with federal and state policymakers, regulators, and economic development entities.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. regulatory landscape, including energy markets, utilities, conservation policy, and public incentives.
- Strong strategic thinker with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes at the highest levels.
Qualifications
- Experience working in or with state utility commissions, federal agencies (e.g., DOE, FERC), and Congress a plus.
- Experience with economic development incentives and tax policy a plus.
