Director, Project Management, Small Business Bank
About the role
We are seeking a Director of Project Management to lead high-priority initiatives across our Small Business Bank line of business. In this role, you will be the architect of various program management efforts—designing roadmaps, establishing operating rhythms, and driving progress across complex, matrixed environments. Examples of projects include aligning Small Business Bank on a technology destination and rolling out industry-leading products that remove fees for customers, supporting our mission to "Change Banking for Good."
Responsibilities
- Driving Execution & Progress: Lead core working group meetings to maintain momentum, track outcomes, and ensure the program remains on track.
- Roadmap & Planning: Build and maintain detailed project roadmaps, establishing go-live requirements and schedules.
- Risk & Issue Management: Create frameworks to monitor, measure, and elevate risks or issues, particularly when timelines or deliverables are at risk.
- Stakeholder Communication: Craft and implement comprehensive plans to keep key stakeholders informed of progress, decisions, and outcomes.
- Contact Center Delivery: Coordinate contact center impact assessments and ensure compliance with program objectives, standards, and associate readiness requirements.
- Strategic Direction: Lead teams through complex, dynamic environments to deliver on high-priority strategic goals.
- Planning & Delivery: Design and manage project plans while remaining flexible to revise needs as requirements evolve, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Relationship Management: Build and foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners and project customers to provide thought partnership and ensure commitments are met.

- Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, with the ability to quickly structure work in dynamic, complex environments.
- Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through leadership.
- Possess excellent communication and partnership skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels, managing, informing, and influencing outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
- At least 7 years of Project Management experience.
- At least 3 years of People Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or MBA degree.
- 8+ years of Project Management experience.
- 4+ years of People Management experience.
- Product Management experience.
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
- Experience working within a large, complex FinTech or Banking organization.

Pay
- McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 per year.
- Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 per year.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
