About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. The role involves leading Production Control strategies, governance, and innovation across all manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Improve and deploy Production Control policies, procedures, processes, and tools with a focus on short-range scheduling, release, and management of manufacturing work order activities.
- Drive disciplined adherence to work order release and management processes.
- Continually improve performance measures (KPI's) of the health of the tactical schedules and open work orders, as well as of the performance of the PC team.
- Identify and implement standard controls focusing primarily on cycle time reduction with a special focus on shared services or common capabilities.
- Represent Production Control in the development of system tools.
- Manage organization budget, forecast, and reconcile actuals.
- Collaborate with Production and Program organizations to maintain alignment on production priorities and capacity/capability changes.
- Anticipate potential schedule and personnel risks, and generate ideas, insight, and solutions to resolve or mitigate potential issues, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
- Coach, mentor, and develop your team for future progression within Blue Origin.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline, operations management, supply chain management, or other relevant field.
- 10+ years of experience in operations/production/supply planning, scheduling, materials management, or Sales Inventory & Operations Planning related functional areas.
- Extensive experience in and understanding of complex manufacturing and production systems (aerospace, medical, or military environments).
- Build and lead a high-performing team that is tightly coordinated with key partners, including all teams supporting the manufacturing and supply chain of complex builds.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, and MES systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers, and suppliers, including a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams across large geographic distances.
- A continuous improvement mindset. Our job is never complete; we are always optimizing.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Experience
- Experience in space systems and/or space launch.
- APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or CPF certification preferred.
Pay
For WA applicants, the compensation range is $203,165.00 - $284,430.30. Other site ranges may differ.
