Director, Product Management - Head of Cal AI

About the Role

As Head of Cal AI, you will own a key growth area within MyFitnessPal, operating as the business owner—defining strategy, roadmap, and outcomes. Reporting to our Chief Product Officer, you will scale an early-traction product into meaningful, durable growth. MyFitnessPal is expanding beyond its flagship app into a portfolio of complementary products, and you will lead one of these bets, growing it from initial traction to scale, reaching millions of users who want to improve their health through better food choices. This role is currently an individual contributor position, with potential to evolve into a people leadership role in the future.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for Cal AI, an early-stage app within the MyFitnessPal portfolio, aligning squad-level work to company objectives and customer outcomes.
• Champion a culture of continuous discovery—using qualitative and quantitative methods to ensure squads are building the right things, not just building things right.
• Drive alignment across product, engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market functions, unblocking decisions and creating clarity when data conflicts or stakeholders disagree.
• Set the bar for how strategy, goals, and priorities are communicated—to your squads, the broader product development organization, and senior leadership.
• Be accountable for the performance of the Cal AI business, holding yourself and your teams to measurable outcomes.
• Contribute to the evolution of MyFitnessPal’s product operating model—sharing what works, identifying risks, and continuously raising the bar for how the org discovers and delivers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product leadership, with demonstrated success leading high-velocity teams that have measurable impact on customers and the business.
• Track record scaling an early-stage product—maximizing market penetration and revenue after initial product-market fit.
• Operator's mindset: decisive with incomplete information, a ruthless prioritizer with a strong bias to action, and a consistent record of shipping successful products.
• Founder mentality: treat the business as your own and connect user problems to business outcomes.
• Proven ability to set and communicate strategy in a way that motivates teams and creates alignment, even in ambiguous or contested situations.
• Strong bias to action: make decisions quickly using a variety of inputs and balance short-term momentum with long-term vision.
• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and data-informed iteration at scale.
• Experience leading consumer-facing product development for native iOS and Android apps.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills—able to tailor your message for a squad standup or a board slide.

Pay

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $200,000 to $290,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
