Director - Pricing Strategy & Analytics (Marketing)
About the role
PODS is transforming how pricing drives growth, customer experience, and competitive advantage across our business. We're looking for a visionary, analytically-driven leader to modernize and elevate our pricing capabilities from a primarily manual, rules-based model into a sophisticated, data-driven pricing function that improves conversion, margin and network utilization across every customer interaction. As the Director of Pricing Strategy & Analytics, you will own the vision, roadmap, and execution of this transformation. This is a rare opportunity to build and shape enterprise pricing strategy at scale — developing smarter pricing frameworks, advancing analytics capabilities, and helping create a more dynamic, technology-enabled approach to revenue optimization. We're looking for someone who is comfortable challenging assumptions and legacy processes, driving change, and rolling up their sleeves to drive execution.
What You'll Do
- Set the pricing product vision and translate it into a sequenced roadmap with clear outcomes at each stage through a fully dynamic, algorithmically-informed engine
- Understand how geography, distance, seasonality, container utilization, and competitive positioning interact to drive customer conversion and margin
- Run diagnostics when conversion or margin moves unexpectedly, and build frameworks your team can use independently
- Own the connection between quoted price and collected revenue; understand and quantify leakage across the full discount waterfall, from agent close discounts to post-booking adjustments to promotional mechanics
- Design and run pricing experiments with real controls and real measurement before scaling anything
- Own demand forecasting models that feed FP&A, Operations capacity planning, and the annual revenue blueprint
- Drive system changes end to end alongside IT and Engineering, from requirements through launch and post-launch measurement
- Direct a team of analysts and systems specialists: define the right questions, set quality standards, and critically review output so the data your team produces is trustworthy and the methodology holds up
- Make the analytical work legible to Sales, Finance, Operations, and executive leadership, including the trade-offs and what a recommendation does and doesn't account for
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a strategic thinker who combines strong analytical capabilities with business acumen, executive presence, and leadership skills. Prior pricing experience is valued but not required; the ability to rapidly learn a new domain, build a product roadmap with actual milestones, and lead a team that does rigorous work is essential. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability role at the intersection of strategy, data, and execution.
What You Bring
- You've built strategy roadmaps where success was defined upfront, not rationalized afterward
- You can read SQL, spot a flawed methodology, and tell the difference between a real trend and a composition effect
- You've delivered cross-functional initiatives end to end, not handed off after the strategy deck was done
- You know when the data is good enough to act and when more investigation is the right call; when you hit ambiguity, your instinct is to investigate, not wait
- You've hired and developed analytical talent, and people have grown under your leadership
