Director, Pharmacy Services - Firelands Health

About the role

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations & CAO, you will plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the provision of pharmacy services to Firelands Health patients, employees, and medical staff. You will ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including the Food and Drug Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, and the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

• Monitor and control revenue and expense budgets
• Allocate and manage the human resources of the department
• Implement Firelands Health policies and develop departmental policies and procedures
• Provide a safe and effective drug distribution system
• Oversee a cost-effective pharmaceutical purchasing program
• Disseminate comprehensive drug information to patients and staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school; M.S./M.B.A. preferred
• Licensed by the State of Ohio
• At least 3 years of managerial experience in a progressive medical center pharmacy environment
• Ability to read and write small letters and numbers, and perform complex arithmetic and financial applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Punctual attendance at assigned work location
• Ability to work safely, maintain an accident-free workplace, and demonstrate knowledge of emergency codes
• Compliance with OSHA regulations, CDC standard and transmission-based precautions, and proper use of personal protective equipment
• Ability to comply with provisions of applicable Safety Data Sheet (SDS) forms
• Commitment to achieving departmental goals and contributing to strategic initiatives
