Director, Pharmacy

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Pharmacy to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This leadership role will guide pharmacy strategy and operations within a healthcare environment, with a strong focus on program oversight, quality, and vendor management. The position will help shape policies, direct pharmacy activities, and support effective pharmacy benefit management practices. It also requires close collaboration with external partners, internal teams, and accreditation stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and care outcomes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $134,600 – $249,000 annually Responsibilities Establish the strategic vision and policies for the pharmacy program Plan, direct, and implement pharmacy activities Serve as contract administrator for key contracts and vendor performance standards Resolve disputes and complaints related to the pharmacy program Participate in external accreditation initiatives and relevant committees Manage relationships with pharmacy benefit management companies and pharmaceutical vendors Support provider education initiatives and develop innovative solutions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (PharmD., M.S.) in pharmacy 3+ years of clinical pharmacy care experience 3+ years of recent contracting, quality improvement, and management experience in healthcare, preferably managed care Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy benefit management practices Previous management experience including hiring, training, and performance management of staff Indiana Pharmacist license, with the ability to obtain licenses in additional states as required Benefits Comprehensive health insurance coverage 401K and stock purchase plans Tuition reimbursement for further education Paid time off plus holidays Flexible work schedules including remote, hybrid, and office options Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
