Director, Periop Services, Jackson Main, FT, Days

Responsibilities

• Provides the leadership framework for planning, directing, coordinating and improving services of the Division that are responsive to the needs of the Jackson Health System (JHS).
• Plans, develops and implements programs to insure that all patients are provided with appropriate care.
• Provides leadership support in the communication and integration of the JHS Mission and Vision Statement.
• Insures that all areas of responsibility reach or exceed the standard required by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and State of Florida.
• Establishes departmental goals and objectives with target dates for completion.
• Recruits, motivates, evaluates and maintains an effective staff to carry out assigned responsibility.
• Provides for the training, education and development for the advancement goals of staff members.
• Develops and maintains effective collaborative relationships with professional staff as well as ancillary support staff.
• Provides leadership support in the development and execution of the Performance Improvement Program.
• Affirms continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided to patients.
• Establishes standards of performance for all personnel and insures that those performances are properly evaluated and based on the productivity and the contribution of each employee to the overall organization.

Requirements

• Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience.
• Management experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• At least one degree must be in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida RN license is required.
• Advanced Nursing Administration certification is preferred.
• Any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers may be required at the unit level upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
