Director Operations – Women’s & Children’s Services

About the Role

The Director of Clinical Operations provides strategic, operational, financial, and clinical leadership for Women's and Children's Services at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO. This includes oversight of Obstetrics, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Pediatrics, and related outpatient clinics. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing service line growth, operational excellence, workforce engagement, and financial stewardship. The Director collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that improve patient outcomes, enhance caregiver experience, and optimize operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required. If the hired candidate has a nursing degree, they must be licensed as an RN in the state of Missouri.
• Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related healthcare field preferred.

Experience

• Five (5) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with demonstrated responsibility for clinical operations, nursing leadership, financial management, and strategic planning.
• Experience leading multiple departments, service lines, or cost centers in acute care and/or ambulatory settings.
• Demonstrated success in physician partnership, caregiver engagement, operational improvement, and quality outcomes.

• Knowledge of women's and children's healthcare services, including obstetrics, neonatal care, pediatrics, and ambulatory operations.
• Strategic planning and business acumen.
• Financial management and budget oversight.
• Process improvement and performance management expertise.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and change leadership skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and influence across organizational levels.
