About the role

Siemens is looking for a Director of Operations Supply Chain to lead the Operations Supply Chain function across the SI EP NA factory network, integrating materials management, inventory, resilience, demand/capacity planning, logistics capability, and digital transformation into one data-driven operating model across Mexico, Canada, and the U.S.

This role owns the Operations Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework, translating commercial demand into clear operational views of capacity, material readiness, inventory impact, execution risk, and required trade-offs. It ensures the factory network has a strong, data-driven voice in the enterprise S&OP process. The role serves as the Operations owner for the Sherpa X / SAP S/4 supply-chain transition while advancing automation, analytics, AI, and predictive planning. It improves inventory performance, strengthens supply resilience, enables proactive demand/supply management, and creates transparent operating visibility across the network.

Responsibilities

  • Sherpa X / SAP S/4 Operations Transition: Own the implementation roadmap of EP NA Operations processes to the harmonized Sherpa X S/4 template, ensuring regional requirements are represented in the program. Partner with Business Technology and Finance to align common solutions and sustain the operations elements of SAP post-launch.
  • Tactical Materials & Inventory Management: Maintain KPIs for inventory turns, working capital, material availability, shortages, and supplier/material risks. Standardize and train core materials management processes across the EP NA factory network in alignment with OpsEdge. Work with factories to balance service levels, cost, inventory performance, and material readiness.
  • Operations IBP, Demand Translation & Capacity Planning: Own the Operations IBP framework, translating demand into capacity, material readiness, inventory impact, execution risk, and trade-off decisions. Represent the factory network in S&OP, ensuring operational constraints and risks are understood before business is loaded. Partner with the Systems S&OP team to provide factory input and scenarios without duplicating their demand-planning ownership. Establish planning governance with defined frozen, slushy, and flexible horizons to stabilize factory execution. Consolidate demand, capacity, inventory, supplier risk, and material availability into one operating framework for faster decisions.
  • Supply Chain Hardening & Resilience: Develop and implement supply-chain risk and resilience programs, including dual-sourcing and network redundancy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supply-continuity risks.
  • Continuous Improvement & Digital Supply Chain Transformation: Drive continuous improvement across materials, inventory, planning, logistics, and end-to-end supply chain execution. Advance digital supply chain capabilities through automation, analytics, AI, and predictive planning. Build scalable logistics and supply chain capability in the plants, including structure, succession, and talent development. Share lessons learned and deploy best practices across the region in alignment with OpsEdge.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective action for supply issues. Coordinate with Global Procurement, Finance, Segments, and Factory Operations to align priorities and execution. Strengthen plant logistics execution while maintaining common standards, governance, and visibility across the regional model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience within Supply Chain or Operations disciplines, including multi-site or complex network leadership.
  • Large-scale ERP/SAP S/4 experience with business transformation experience preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a team of professionals and building new capability.
  • Knowledge of S&OP, Production Planning, inventory optimization, procurement strategy, and process-improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean.

Working Relationships

Reports to Senior VP of Operations EP NA. Supervises direct reports across: Sherpa X Operations, Materials & Inventory, Supply Chain Hardening, and Demand Management & Capacity Planning departments. Matrixed collaboration required on a project-by-project basis with team members and experts from Business Technology (Sherpa X), Global Procurement, Finance, Segments, Factories, etc.
