Director, Operations - Operations and Maintenance

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Lead all O&M operations across North America.

Establish operational standards, policies, procedures, and performance expectations.

Ensure effective execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

Oversee plant startups, operational transitions, and mobilization activities.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Safety & Compliance

Champion a safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, regulatory, and permitting requirements.

Lead incident investigations and corrective action programs.

Maintain emergency response and business continuity plans.

Ensure operational risks are identified and mitigated.

Financial Management

Own operational P&L performance.

Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and workforce plans.

Drive achievement of revenue, EBITDA, and margin objectives.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Monitor key operational and financial performance metrics.

Customer Management

Serve as executive sponsor for key customer accounts.

Lead customer business reviews and performance discussions.

Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are achieved.

Support contract renewals and business development activities.

Act as escalation point for critical customer issues.

Reliability & Asset Management

Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies which integrate AI to drive performance.

Drive asset management programs that maximize equipment life and performance.

Promote predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and root cause analysis methodologies.

Standardize maintenance planning and execution practices.

Leadership & Talent Development

Build and lead a high-performing operations organization.

Develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.

Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Growth

Support development and execution of the O&M growth strategy.

Evaluate opportunities for market expansion and new service offerings.

Participate in acquisition due diligence and integration activities.

Lead implementation of systems and technologies that improve scalability and performance.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in power generation, industrial services, utilities, energy infrastructure, or related industries. Minimum 5 years leading multi-site operations teams. Experience managing O&M contracts and customer relationships. Demonstrated operational P&L accountability (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of operations and maintenance. Knowledge of reliability engineering and asset management principles. Strong financial and business acumen. Proven leadership and team development capabilities. Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills. Ability to lead organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
