About the Role

The Director, Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, developing and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and ensure high-quality product delivery on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability of cryogenic pump manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and manage the annual manufacturing budget, monitoring expenses to stay within constraints.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Manage and develop a team of manufacturing professionals, providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, sales) to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and outsourced partners.
  • Develop and implement consistent processes, policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure company goals are met and provide necessary support for on-time delivery.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and engagement of high-performance team members.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, cash, people).
  • Address escalated customer issues with urgency, orchestrating resources as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in rotating equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of pump manufacturing for the cryogenic industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing operational strategies for efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Experience managing budgets and controlling expenses.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality control systems.
  • Experience with global manufacturing operations and multi-functional, multi-site teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Problem Solving / Six Sigma and Project Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Supervisory Responsibility

Reports to the Director, Operations and manages a team of manufacturing professionals, providing coaching and mentoring.

Work Environment

Operates in both a professional office and manufacturing/production environment. Commitment to safety is essential, with routine use of standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

Requires regular talking/hearing, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. May involve lifting files, bending, or standing on a stool.

Pay

Salary Range: $110,000 - $160,000 per year.
