Responsibilities
- Provides senior leadership for Critical Facilities Operations, Preventative Maintenance, Commissioning, Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Security, Logistics, and Safety.
- Manages Campus operations of the 24x7 Datacenter environment.
- Identifies and implements critical metrics to manage and monitor performance, including capacity, availability, budget, and inventory.
- Oversees all electrical and mechanical infrastructure such as UPS systems, generators, fire suppression systems, BMS, and HVAC systems.
- Ensures meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and high-quality work without impact to internal/external customers.
- Oversees requirements and delivery of services provided by Operations, Security, and Safety to maximize potential and provide exceptional client services.
- Supports level 5 commissioning, operations, and maintenance of all Datacenter mission-critical infrastructure to achieve 100% availability.
- Manages Datacenter facility expansion and consolidation.
- Manages, coaches, and develops the management team performing Datacenter operations.
- Leads vendor relationships to maintain day-to-day operations and strategic goals for Datacenter Operations SLAs and deliverables.
- Oversees all Datacenter vendor contracts, streamlining services and optimizing costs.
- Works with strategic supply chain vendors to implement lean management strategies, continuous innovation, and process improvement.
- Evaluates and mitigates risk on new and existing programs within datacenter program governance.
- Develops opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and removes organizational barriers for collaboration and service delivery.
- Drives Aligned’s Sustainability Strategy and improves the efficiency of Datacenter operations.
- Engages in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion.
- Manages budgeting, forecasting, planning, deployment, incident and problem management, and change management.
- Maintains documentation and diagrams capturing all essential parameters of Datacenter operations.
- Defines policies, procedures, and standards related to performance, capacity, availability, continuity, and security.
- Creates and delivers presentations to leadership, company meetings, and conferences.
- Meets all customer service levels and power utilization efficiency commitments; participates in customer service reviews and ad-hoc meetings.
- Manages customer service orders and remote hand requests.
- Supervises local change management processes, including review and approval of Method of Procedures (MOPs) for maintenance and repair events.
- Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Responds quickly to emergency situations (e.g., fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and customer concerns.
- Ensures inventory control programs and purchase of parts and supplies are maintained.
- Ensures compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agencies, and AE directives.
- Performs operational roles as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 10 years’ experience, or a minimum of 12-15 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents, AutoCAD, Visio, and PDF documents.
- Strong project and time management skills; ability to develop operational standards, project tracking, and management documents.
- Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries, or complaints verbally or in writing.
- High-level presentation skills for groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- High level of commitment to customer service, whether for co-workers or clients.
- In-depth knowledge of all applicable rules, laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances for data/communications and MEP projects.
- Ability to estimate costs for client installations and other projects, including cost tracking.
- Knowledge of Purchase Order Requests process and invoice tracking.
- Develops appropriate RFP processes and operating/capital budgets.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems involving several options with limited information.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Occasional travel required for training and meetings.
