Director of Women's Center (RN) - Northeast
About the role
The Director of Women's Center reports directly to the Executive Director of Nursing. The Director is responsible for providing the day-to-day leadership and management of a defined group of clinical and support disciplines which includes Labor & Delivery, Post Partum, Newborn Nursery, and Lactation. This role directs the delivery of services ensuring a seamless integration with service line initiatives, performance improvement measures, strategic, business, and organizational goals/objectives. The Director plays a vital role in the accreditation process and works closely with the Administrator to assure department compliance with established standards of performance. This position will also be responsible for the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and programs to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day leadership and management of a defined group of clinical and support disciplines including Labor & Delivery, Post Partum, Newborn Nursery, and Lactation.
- Directs the delivery of services ensuring a seamless integration with service line initiatives, performance improvement measures, strategic, business, and organizational goals/objectives.
- Works closely with the Administrator to assure department compliance with established standards of performance.
- Develops and implements processes, procedures, and programs to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree. Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing work experience, two years of supervisory experience required.
- Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged.
Qualifications
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- 9 years progressive work experience and 4 years management experience preferred.

- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, lifting and carrying 50 lbs., lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, matching or discriminating between colors, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, and if selected, maintaining good olfactory sensory function and being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
