Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the Rooms Division team, including Front Office Managers, Housekeeping Managers, and department staff.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and create opportunities for staff development and training.
  • Foster a positive and motivated work environment, focusing on employee engagement and retention.
  • Ensure that all departments within the Rooms Division maintain high standards of guest service, creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • Handle guest complaints, special requests, and concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction metrics (e.g., guest surveys, online reviews) and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Oversee daily operations within the Rooms Division to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with all hotel departments, including F&B, Events, and Spa, to ensure a cohesive service experience for guests.
  • Review and optimize operational workflows, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and cost-saving measures.
  • Work with the Revenue Management team to develop pricing strategies and optimize room inventory to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Monitor and control departmental budgets, ensuring costs are kept within limits while maintaining service quality.
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend strategies to improve profitability, including adjusting staffing levels or service offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and brand standards, health and safety regulations, and quality control guidelines.
  • Inspect guest rooms regularly, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are met.
  • Oversee the housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure timely room turnovers and preventative maintenance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Rooms Division and other hotel departments.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure room rates and packages are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance of the Rooms Division, including guest satisfaction, financial metrics, and operational challenges.
  • Identify trends, technologies, and best practices within the hospitality industry to enhance guest experiences and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Introduce new initiatives, programs, or services to increase guest satisfaction and room revenue.
  • Drive sustainability and eco-friendly practices within the Rooms Division.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in hotel management, preferably in luxury resorts or similar properties.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing a team of managers and staff.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
  • Leadership experience in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing new initiatives and programs.
