About the role
The Director of Undergraduate Admission is responsible for supporting the undergraduate admission processes by assisting in planning and executing policy and programming, recommending admission actions, and supervising Associate Directors of Admission. The Director of Undergraduate Admission will be a strategic partner in the development of a comprehensive recruitment plan informed by data best practices. Purview will contain domestic first-year and transfer admission and international admission.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic and tactical leadership of the university undergraduate admission functions.
- Develop recruitment plan for all undergraduate audiences including first-year, transfer and international students in conjunction with the Dean of Admission.
- Supervises staff responsible for representing TCU at recruiting events both on- and off-campus; supporting events at TCU; visiting high schools to conduct recruiting activities; conducting informational and evaluative sessions; establishing rapport with candidates; recommending admissions actions.
- Assists the Dean with the student search process, track ROI on vendor relations.
- Lead, oversee and implement all operations, services, program, activities, and budgets related to recruitment of the incoming undergraduate class.
- Identifies recruiting strategies by monitoring trends at peer and aspirant institutions for recruiting opportunities; develops policies related to trends and best practices in admission.
- Stays abreast of and collaborates with key partners across campus (e.g. financial aid, housing, registrar, student affairs, etc.)
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes occupational, scholarship, departmental, economic, and market data for dissemination to provide strategic recommendations used to target potential students more effectively.
- Prepares reports in concert with the Director of Admission Systems.
- Utilize predictive modeling/data analytics and institute performance indicators to track departmental efficiency, monitor achievement of enrollment goals, and forecast probabilities and trends.
- High proficiency in creating and managing queries, reports, and workflows within a CRM, such as Slate.
- Cultivates and establishes partnerships with key professional associations, individuals in higher and secondary education institutions and TCU constituents across campus.
- Recruits, selects, counsels and disciplines staff to accomplish department goals.
- Trains staff by developing and implementing programs.
- Represents the Office of Admission in public and in senior leadership meetings when Dean of Admission is unavailable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- 7+ years' experience in admissions in a higher education environment with added responsibility, including supervisory experience.
- Valid Texas Driver's License or ability to obtain a required State of Texas license within 90 days. Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Work environment
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
- This role is an on campus, in-person position.
- There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
