About the Role

Paragon 28, a trailblazing Zimmer Biomet company, is looking for a visionary Director of Trauma to revolutionize our global footprint. Take the helm of a high-growth portfolio and define the future of trauma and limb salvage surgery. In this leadership role, you will architect the global commercial strategy, drive product lifecycle management, and spearhead high-impact product launches across both domestic and international markets. You will build an integrated, world-class procedural ecosystem that spans fixation, external fixation, biologics, and enabling technologies to optimize surgical workflows. By cultivating deep partnerships with elite surgeons and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical Affairs, and Sales, you will turn disruptive innovation into widespread clinical adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership & Strategy
    • Own global Trauma commercial strategy and annual marketing plans to hit revenue goals.
    • Head global launch planning, product positioning, and economic messaging for new introductions.
    • Determine launch strategies via internal development, acquisitions, licensing, or supply partnerships.
    • Evaluate marketing campaign ROI, tracking costs against revenue results to optimize spend.
  • Field Enablement & Sales Partnership
    • Partner with Sales Leadership to boost surgeon conversion, market penetration, and account expansion.
    • Create economic messaging and procedural efficiency strategies to win hospital system approvals.
    • Lead surgeon awareness and patient education initiatives with commercial and compliance teams.
  • Portfolio Innovation & KOL Engagement
    • Develop strategic surgeon partnerships to drive innovation, clinical education, and market expansion.
    • Collaborate with design surgeons and R&D to spot unmet needs and spark future innovation.
    • Monitor medical literature, competitor moves, and conferences to stay ahead of scientific advancements.
  • Curriculum Development & Medical Education
    • Lead the creation, delivery, and maintenance of all internal and external training programs.
    • Design multi-media educational learning objects, electronic tools, and complex instructional handouts.
    • Continuous improvement of course agendas, lesson plans, and demonstrations alongside subject matter experts.
    • Partner with Events teams to run workshops, CME courses, labs, and regional surgeon programs.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Compliance
    • Act as the central commercial bridge across Sales, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, and Supply Chain.
    • Align all educational activities and materials with federal, state, and AdvaMed codes of conduct.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree preferred. BA or BS; will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and teach educational curriculum.
  • Experience in orthopedics, preferably within trauma, foot & ankle, deformity correction, or medical education.
  • Ability to support large-scale surgeon education programs, labs, and national commercial initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects, prioritize urgent needs simultaneously, and work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to operate independently with little direction.
  • Ability to engage in high-level scientific and engineering conversations with surgeon audiences (domestic and international).
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to be a team player.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently as required.
  • Comfortable managing many different related roles within a high-paced growth environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Schedule

Position requires approximately 30% overnight travel throughout the country.

Pay

Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 USD Annually depending on skills and experience.
