Salary/Pay Rate: $105,000 to $140,000 per year plus annual bonus
Location: San Antonio, TX (20% travel required)
Employment Type: Full‑time
Project Scope: Government / Federal Highway Traffic Control
Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None required
Responsibilities
- Direct daily logistics and operations for the traffic control division.
- Supervise and mentor field crews and flaggers across multiple simultaneous job sites.
- Interpret Traffic Control Plans (TCP) to proactively catch and resolve compliance issues.
- Coordinate directly with subcontractors, vendors, and TxDOT representatives to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of field operations, safety meetings, and asset management.
- Oversee deployment and utilization of arrow boards, attenuators, and temporary barrier systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of direct work‑zone and traffic control management experience.
- Proven track record of leading field crews across simultaneous highway construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting complex Traffic Control Plans (TCP) and TxDOT regulations.
- Deep operational knowledge of traffic control equipment, message boards, and safety logistics.
- Preferred: Active ATSSA certification.
- Preferred: Existing professional relationships within the local TxDOT district.
- Preferred: Technical certifications such as Work Zone Traffic Control for Contractor Responsible Person (CRP) or Flagger Train‑the‑Trainer.
