About the role
This position is available at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, Texas Health Resources, and Methodist Hospital System. The Director of Therapy will lead the Therapy Services Department, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees the operations of the Therapy Services Department.
- Coordinates and supervises the department's activities, including maintaining performance improvement activities and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains competency of all personnel and develops a system for reviewing department charges to ensure accuracy and timely entry.
- Develops and implements departmental budgets, evaluates performance against budget, and takes necessary actions to stay within budget guidelines.
- Manages the Therapy Services Department staff, supports their growth, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop clinical programs, focusing on CARF certification.
- Serves as a key member of the Administrative Team and participates in hospital committees.
- Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Assists in formulating budgets, evaluating department performance, and taking appropriate action to improve areas such as staffing, outcomes, employee satisfaction, and patient engagement.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech and Language Pathologist.
- Minimum of three years of previous therapy management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct activities of clinical personnel.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with additional language proficiency preferred.
- CPR certified.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Proficiency in rehabilitation skills in the specific discipline of PT, OT, or ST, with the ability to treat patients and mentor staff as needed.
