Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Reliability, Turnaround, Process Engineering, Process Control, and Project Engineering teams.
- Develop departmental objectives that improve asset reliability, operational efficiency, and plant performance.
- Build high-performing teams through effective recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
- Ensure engineering systems, standards, and work processes support safe and effective plant operations.
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of major plant turnarounds.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to achieve safety, reliability, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into future turnaround planning and execution.
- Oversee optimization of manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, raw material utilization, energy consumption, and process safety.
- Guide the development and application of process models and simulations to support operational improvements.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and recognized industry standards.
- Lead Project Engineering and Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering teams in the planning and execution of capital improvement projects.
- Develop and manage a multi-year capital investment strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with engineering and quality standards.
- Promote best practices in project management, cost control, and risk mitigation.
- Manage engineering budgets and optimize resource utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience within the chemical, petrochemical, refining, or similar process manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading reliability, process engineering, turnaround, and capital project programs in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of process safety principles and applicable industry regulations.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, manage large engineering teams, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of chemical process engineering, reaction, distillation, and heat transfer systems; process optimization and process control; equipment design and scale-up; asset reliability and maintenance strategies; capital project planning and execution; risk assessment and mitigation; engineering standards and best practices.
