Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to lead our finance function. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for owning and leading the company's technical accounting function, preparing and reviewing SEC filings, and driving IPO readiness.

Qualifications

• CPA required, with strong foundational training — Big 4 public accounting experience on public companies highly preferred.
• 8+ years of total accounting experience with increasing responsibility, including SEC reporting experience at a public company.
• IPO experience is preferred — either taking a company public or supporting clients through the process.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP (including ASC 606), SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• A “player-coach” mindset — you’re comfortable leading strategy but also doing the work, especially in a lean, fast-moving environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex accounting issues to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
• Experience with tools like Workiva, NetSuite, FloQast, or similar is a plus.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $165,000 - $210,000 USD per year (Remote (United States)).
