About the role

This role requires a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional who can lead a team and partner with operations to address complex transactions and oversee SEC and other external financial reporting. In this leadership role, you will develop and mentor your team, oversee preparation and filing of financial reporting with the SEC and other external parties, partner with other business functions on projects to address accounting and reporting implications for complex transactions, monitor developments at the SEC and FASB, and implement solutions to maintain effective and efficient processes and controls to support external reporting in compliance with applicable standards.

This position is best suited for an accounting professional who possesses strong communication, organization, technology, and leadership skills as well as enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of periodic filings with the SEC; including financial statement preparation, related notes, Management Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations, and other applicable reporting obligations
  • Coordinate with our Independent Registered Public Accounting Firm on the execution of our annual audit and quarterly reviews, including liaising with general accounting and other business functions to ensure timely execution and completion
  • Collaborate with investor relations on financial presentations for communications with investors and related stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships across functions, including business operations, general accounting, tax, treasury, legal, investor relations, and HR to ensure timely communication and review of reporting matters
  • Monitor developments at the SEC and FASB for potential impacts on accounting or disclosure, educate the business on potential impacts, and partner with IT and other functions on any necessary system developments or process improvements
  • Prepare and present information as necessary to aid the Audit Committee in fulfillment of their oversight obligations
  • Act as a global technical lead on strategic transactions to identify accounting and reporting obligations or issues and assist with actions required for execution or implementation
  • Guide and motivate a team of accounting professionals to grow their career, including development of technical and presentation skillsets

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with 10+ years of overall experience
  • Active CPA license
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team for 6+ years
  • Hands-on experience with filings of Form 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, and other SEC filings associated with financial reporting
  • Experience with capital market transactions, including comfort letters and relevant SEC securities filings
  • Experience with multinational operations functioning in various currencies
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing new accounting pronouncements, as well as process and system automation
  • Experienced in leading cross-functional projects and related management presentations
  • Solid knowledge of Oracle ERP system and Workiva
  • Consistent record of accomplishment of establishing relationships with cross-functional business partners

Pay

The salary range for this role is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. The actual pay may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, ability, knowledge of the job, performance, contribution, results, geographic location, shift, internal and external equity, and business and organizational needs. This range is applicable for jobs performed in California, Colorado, New York, or remote jobs that can be performed in those states.

If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned.

You may be eligible for bonuses under either WD’s Short Term Incentive Plan (“STI Plan”) or the Sales Incentive Plan (“SIP”), which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and performance.

You may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to WD's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
