Perched in the heart of Telluride’s Mountain Village, Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Collection is a luxurious alpine retreat blending the spirit of the Rockies with Auberge’s signature warmth and sophistication. The resort features 83 guest rooms, suites, and 71 private residences, each offering elevated design and sweeping mountain views. Amenities include ski-in/ski-out access, Crest Club (a private ski club), Ski Valet, Alpine Swim Club with a heated pool, a full-service spa, fitness center, open-air ice rink, and distinctive dining at Black Iron Kitchen + Bar and Timber Room.

About the role

The heartbeat of our business, this role champions culture, plays a pivotal role in assembling best-in-class teams, managing business risks, and leading talent development to support growth. It requires a pursuit of excellence in luxury service delivery, impacting both external guest experiences and internal team member experiences with equal ambition.

As a collaborative and strategic partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will strategize hotel goals, implement process improvements, ensure appropriate staffing, coach performance, and deliver heartfelt service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Talent Management: Attract top talent by championing the brand’s culture and values. Develop effective staffing strategies, engage with the local talent pool, and build pipelines through educational institutions and career fairs. Create an inclusive onboarding process and a competitive compensation structure. Support succession planning aligned with the overall talent strategy.
  • Culture Creator: Spend time in each department, attend daily rallies, and walk spaces to demonstrate passion for the team. Foster collaboration by valuing individual opinions and creating feedback loops to address team concerns. Champion an events calendar, recognition programs, and incentives to keep team members engaged. Maintain open communication and align messaging with the brand. Use engagement and retention metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Learning and Development: Prioritize Auberge’s learning and development initiatives by organizing and leading team member training. Work with leaders and team members to enhance service skills and product delivery.
  • Financial Acumen and Subject Matter Expertise: Utilize sound financial decision-making to ensure budgets support events and programming. Demonstrate expertise in compliance with labor laws and proactively address upcoming changes at city, state, and federal levels. Skillfully handle employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution in alignment with Auberge’s ENRICH values.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated history of building and supporting a winning team, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong HRIS/ATS/Payroll system experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Pay

The targeted compensation range for this full-time, year-round, exempt position is $145,000–$160,000, with a competitive compensation package offered by Auberge Resorts Collection.
