About the Role

The Director of Student Services will provide comprehensive support to students and graduates, including career placement assistance, coordination of student activities, and facilitation of institutional events and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide placement assistance to students and graduates by teaching skills in résumé-writing, job search strategies, and interviewing techniques.
  • Provide job leads and maintain a part-time/full-time job bulletin board.
  • Assist employers with placement needs and maintain accurate placement statistics for all graduates.
  • Maintain and update the online career center and campus announcements.
  • Contact graduates not placed or placed out of field; send out resumes of graduates and upcoming graduates.
  • Obtain new job postings and generate weekly reports for management meetings.
  • Engage in on-campus and off-campus employer visits every month:
    • 7 new contacts per week with a company's hiring representative.
    • 20 off-campus employer visits per month (5 per week), including 10 new employer visits and 10 to foster existing relationships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Student Government Association and student organizations.
  • Plan and facilitate student activities and cross-functional teams on campus.
  • Maintain accurate records on graduates, ensuring all obligations are cleared and notifying affected departments.
  • Conduct monthly exit interviews and graduate surveys.
  • Obtain testimonials and photographs from graduates for the Wall of Fame.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new student orientation, including making student ID cards.
  • Conduct workshops and attend 2 networking events per year.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Advisory Boards Meetings twice per year.
  • Produce a quarterly newsletter, including employer and alumni update surveys.
  • Coordinate and facilitate graduation ceremonies once a year.
  • Plan homecoming once a year, held the evening before graduation, inviting alumni and graduates.
  • Hold two career fairs per year representing all programs or one program-specific career fair for smaller programs.
  • Participate in the Annual Student Services Conference in July and the Annual Management Retreat in November.
  • Prepare the Student Services annual report and handle FETPIP/CIE reporting.
  • Assist with programmatic accreditations reporting.
  • Close out employer and graduate surveys and rebuild for the new year.
  • Order and distribute graduate diplomas and graduation exit packets.
  • Conduct Graduate Exit Seminars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Career Services (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in Student Services (preferred).
