Director of Student-Athlete Success (Administrator I)

About the role

The Director of Student-Athlete Success provides leadership and oversight for comprehensive academic, personal, and professional development services for Chico State student-athletes. The position oversees the Student-Athlete Success Center and coordinates academic support, advising, housing, conduct, leadership development, community engagement, and graduation planning. The Director collaborates closely with campus partners to ensure student-athletes are supported holistically while maintaining compliance with NCAA, CCAA, and California State University policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs, Kinesiology, Sport Management, or a related field
• Progressively responsible professional experience supporting student success, academic advising, student development, athletics administration, or a related area
• 2-5 years of professional experience

Preferences

• Master’s degree in related field
• Four years of professional work experience in collegiate athletics
• Demonstrated successful experience working with a diverse population and understanding of multicultural issues
• Experience facilitating educational workshops to students
• Demonstrated successful experience with program development and implementation, club/group creation/management, and the ability to initiate and complete projects independently with specific deadlines
• Demonstrated familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, personal and professional development trends, and campus and community resources and support systems
• NACDA/N4A member

Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated salary not to exceed $60,000 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

The incumbent is responsible for the safety and security of Level 1 data, sometimes also referred to as Level 1 protected data. This is confidential information that is in most cases protected by statutes, regulations, or other legal mandates.

Background Check

The successful candidate will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
