About the role

The Director of Strategic Parent Engagement serves as the trusted relationship anchor for every family's Alpha experience. They maintain their confidence through challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging feels intentional, and establish conditions where satisfied families naturally become active advocates.

Responsibilities

  • Own the relationship with every enrolled family—the evolving, deepening connection that ensures parents feel understood, not merely assisted
  • Identify concerns before they surface as issues, and address them with discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
  • Maintain visible presence where families gather: morning drop-off (7–9am), afternoon pick-up (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend programming
  • Create a campus community with authentic depth—events, rituals, and interactions that foster a sense of belonging worth defending
  • Encourage parent advocacy through organic means, delivering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge naturally
  • Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-powered approach with families managing screen time questions, skeptical relatives, and occasional uncertainty—not only during enrollment but throughout their campus tenure
  • Recognize when a family is misaligned with the community and manage that situation with the same professionalism you bring to all interactions—safeguarding the community is integral to serving it
  • Establish the structures and cadences this role demands in a setting where the framework is still being developed

Requirements

  • Currently reside within commuting distance of one of these campuses OR willing to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with existing community roots): Scottsdale, AZ; Greenwich, CT; Bethesda, MD; New York City, NY; Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Chantilly, VA; or Kirkland, WA
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • 5+ years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or any setting where discretion, warmth, and social acuity were as critical as competence
  • Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and preserve trust throughout
  • Authentic presence and communication approach that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, high-expectation families—genuine rather than rehearsed
  • Direct familiarity with independent, private, or non-traditional education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides credible perspective when families question the approach
  • Exceptional conviction in AI-powered education and capacity to sustain that belief genuinely across years of parent relationships, not solely during enrollment discussions
  • Availability for variable hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend activities

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Established connections within the local affluent community providing immediate, organic credibility on campus
  • Private school or independent school background with demonstrated family retention and community depth—beyond enrollment metrics alone
  • Experience managing high-stakes family relationships where your judgment and discretion were foundational to maintaining trust
  • Natural aptitude for designing experiences—events, moments, environments—that make people feel part of something worth preserving
  • Prior startup or early-stage experience where you built from the ground up and maintained composure amid rapid change
