Essential Functions
- Own the brand: positioning, messaging architecture, visual identity standards, and their enforcement.
- Build the annual integrated marketing plan in partnership with admissions and the advancement leadership team.
- Direct outside marketing and creative partners: set strategy, manage scopes, and hold work to the brand standard.
- Own the website strategy and governance: information architecture, content standards, analytics, and an improvement roadmap.
- Lead digital marketing: social platforms, paid campaigns, email strategy, and SEO.
- Report digital performance monthly and adjust strategy from the data.
- Set the school’s content strategy: the stories, voices, and moments that prove the school’s value.
- Draft and shape communications for the Head of School and institutional leadership.
- Own crisis and rapid-response communications support, in partnership with school leadership.
- Cultivate media relationships and place stories that build the school’s regional standing.
- Lead communications standards across campus: advise divisions and departments and run the structures that keep school communications coherent.
- Serve as the communications thought partner to school and division leadership across campus, with particular attention to Admissions and Advancement.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Seven or more years of progressive marketing/communications experience with demonstrated strategic leadership – owning strategy, not only production; independent school or education experience preferred.
- Experience with web content management systems and design platforms is essential.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong project and time management skills and demonstrated success in directing agencies or outside creative partners.
- Strong analytics fluency: making and defending decisions from data.
- Collaborative, team player mentality with high EQ.
- Exceptional writing, including executive voice work.
- Detail oriented with the ability to be flexible and adhere to strict deadlines.
Pay
Compensation Range: $100,000 – $125,000; commensurate with experience.
