Director of Social Services (Promotional) - Cortland County DSS
Promotional opportunity limited to current Cortland County Department of Social Services employees serving permanently as Case Supervisor, Grade B for at least twelve continuous months.
About the role
The Director of Social Services is responsible for managing various units or divisions within the Department of Social Services. This role involves developing policies and procedures in accordance with State and Federal laws, planning and coordinating service delivery across multiple units, and working closely with a small administrative team for both short- and long-term agency planning. The position operates under general supervision with significant independence in decision-making and supervises subordinate staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures relative to standards and practices in child welfare services.
- Plan and coordinate service delivery across several units within the department.
- Collaborate with other members of the administrative team for agency planning and operations.
- Supervise subordinate staff and oversee daily work activities.
- Perform related work as required.
Requirements
- Must be currently employed by Cortland County Department of Social Services in the competitive class position of Case Supervisor, Grade B.
- Must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months immediately preceding the application.
- Pre-employment screenings required.
Schedule
Full-time, 35 hours per week.
Pay
$75,599–$100,621 per year (Management Compensation Plan).
