About the role
The Social Services Director oversees and directs the daily operations of the social services department. This position is responsible for leading efforts to provide social services to residents and their families to enable them to deal with the impact of illness and extend placement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct resident care management and ensure all established social services provisions are carried out.
- Identify medically-related social services needs of residents and ensure that these needs are met.
- Assist in meeting the psychological needs of each resident, including developing and managing services to improve social functioning, reduce psychosocial problems, enhance positive self-image, and preserve dignity.
- Cookordinate psychiatric services and monitor psychoactive medication usage.
- Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in our every daily interaction with our guests, their families, and visitors. Through kind words and encouragement, you will promote a positive, healthy environment in which to heal and thrive.
- Develop & deliver clinical orientation and training for new nursing team members including classroom training on specific nursing policies, procedures, and techniques; observing, assisting and assessing new team members performance; and ensure new members are equipped with the skills necessary to be successful in their new roles.
Requirements
- Must have a current Limited License in Social Work (LSW PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED); LMSW preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED)
- 3+ years of related experience in a health care facility; long term care experience highly desired; working knowledge of gerontology.

Qualifications
