Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the social service programs.
- Provide information to residents/families as to Medicare/Medicaid, and other financial assistance programs available to the resident.
- Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the social service department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma with the ability to obtain NHCA 36-hour Social Work Designee within 6 months of starting.
- Maintain required credits in accordance with licensure requirements as needed.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Skills
- Proven experience as director of social services preferred.
- Experience with referral review and admissions responsibilities preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of long-term care procedures and resident care.
- Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
- Great communication and people skills.
